Malaysia jumps to 71st in economic freedom ranking

Malaysia has moved up seven spots to 71st out of 144 countries in terms of economic freedom, from 78th last year, according to this year's annual ranking of nations by Canada's think-tank Fraser Institute.

The latest report showed that Malaysia has improved in all the categories measured by the index:
> Size of government: improved to 6.13 from 5.55 in last year's report
> Legal system and property rights: improved to 6.86 from 6.54
> Access to sound money: improved to 6.52 from 6.50
> Freedom to trade internationally: improved to 7.25 from 7.23
> Regulation of credit, labour and business: improved to 8.03 from 7.61

At here, I hope that Malaysia economic ranking will be rose from time to time by the cooperation of whole Malaysian efforts.

Simply Smiling Can Actually Reduce Stress

Researchers discovered that simply smiling can reduce stress and increase well-being
It sounds like the most useless advice imaginable: Just put on a happy face. Conventional wisdom is that smiling is an effect of feeling happy, rather than the other way around. Simply smiling in stressful situations can’t possibly make you feel any better, right?

Wrong. A fascinating new study by University of Kansas psychologists that will soon be published in the journal Psychological Science indicates that, in some circumstances, smiling can actually reduce stress and help us feel better.

What does this mean for your daily life? When feeling stressed, try forcing a smile on your face. If you can manage a genuine, Duchenne smile—what people often refer to as “smiling with your eyes,” not just your mouth—that’s even better. For whatever reason, forcing yourself to look happier could actually end up helping you feel happier.

“The next time you are stuck in traffic or are experiencing some other type of stress you might try to hold your face in a smile for a moment,” said Sarah Pressman, one of the researchers. “Not only will it help you ‘grin and bear it’ psychologically, but it might actually help your heart health as well.”

My Form 6 school-----King Edward VII School

Located at Station Road in Taiping town, the King Edward VII School was formerly known as the Central School. Opened in 1883, it was the first English school in the state. It got a name-change when it reopened in 1905 and has remained one of the most scenic schools in the state, thanks to the 100-year-old Flame of the Forest trees on the grounds. Did you know that Taiping breeds a lot of tigers? Blame it on the school.

How Effective Are Facebook Ads?

First with Facebook, there is less competition for keywords than there is on Google or other pay-per-click sites. One of the biggest benefits for Facebook advertising is that you are reaching your target demographic in their comfort zone. When a person is logged into their Facebook page, they are comfortable. When they see your advertisements on their Facebook page there is a certain amount of trust that is inherent and that you don’t get when seeing a random link on a Google search.
That trust can be a particularly important factor in the effectiveness of advertisements on Facebook, Barnett said. Typically with Facebook ads, you can go to the person’s Facebook page. The main difference between a Facebook page and a traditional web page is you can see customer feedback. If someone clicks on your Facebook ad and goes to your page, they can actually read what other people are saying about you. That helped build trust among your client base.

What is the difference between love and friendship?

Love is an action based on the will and not solely on the heart. Liking someone is based on admiration, emotion, the persons characteristics, etc. Love is a commitment, e.g., doing for a person even when that person is no longer very likable. As we age and our looks and strengths deteriorate, someone who loves you will still care for you. Some friendships develop into love. Most, if not all, long lasting friendships also are based on love. It's easy to love and do things to meet the needs of someone who is attractive and likable. But it is love when you continue to do for someone who has become unattractive and undergoes personality changes that make them unlikable.

Why The iPad Mini Could Be More Successful Than The iPhone 5

We now know that Apple’s teaser invitations are not nearly as cryptic as they once were, and “little” is clearly the cue word here, suggesting the iPad Mini. Sure, there are lots of colors — maybe the iPad Mini will come in multiple colors.

Whatever the case, the production reports and leaked photos all point to this being an iPad Mini event. It really does not matter if the iPad mini is more successful than the original iPad because if its just a smaller iPad it will of course sell because it has the Apple brand which makes it a desirable fashion accessory but Apple can’t rely on that forever and there is some real competition out there now.

Apple for the first time have met with real competition in the form of the Kindle Fire and now Microsoft have come out with the new surface if which there is a large & small version and that has the potential to be the iPad killer the industry has been waiting for because they have finally blended the laptop & tablet by adding a USB port and their screen cover which is the same style as the iPad magnetic screen cover only its a proper Bluetooth keyboard so you have the option of the onscreen keyboard or a remove-able external keyboard which many people want.

The Surface also comes with Office and the iPad has no word processing abilities. iPad might appeal to the ordinary man on the street because it has the Apple brand but businessmen who don’t care about designer just what machine will do the job best might start choosing the Surface.

The iPad mini & full size iPad 4 need to be total redesigns with features like its Pages word processing suit, a external keyboard of some kind, a significant memory boost the memory in the iPad 3 is the same as what it was with the original so if Apple don’t want to give an SD memory expansion option which most tablets now have then it need to offer a significant memory boost as standard and maybe its time for Apple to start considering things like USB to finally make the iPad much more of a machine in its own right rather than an accessory to computer.

Apple are just not being inventive enough and the iPad 1 really was the lat thing they came up with which had any kind of wow factor.

An American novelist----Herman Melville

An American novelist----Herman Melville

Herman Melville   was born in New York City on August 1, 1819, the third of eight children of Allan and Maria Gansevoort Melvill. After her husband Allan died, between 1832 and 1834, Maria added an "e" to the family surname — seemingly at the behest of her son Gansevoort. Part of a well-established and colorful Boston family, Melville's father spent a good deal of time abroad as a commission merchant and an importer of French dry goods. He was an American novelist, short story writer, essayist, and poet. He is best known for his novel Moby-Dick. His first three books gained much contemporary attention (the first, Typee, becoming a bestseller), and after a fast-blooming literary success in the late 1840s, his popularity declined precipitously in the mid-1850s and never recovered during his lifetime. When he died in 1891, he was almost completely forgotten. It was not until the "Melville Revival" in the early 20th century that his work won recognition, especially Moby-Dick, which was hailed as one of the literary masterpieces of both American and world literature. He was the first writer to have his works collected and published by the Library of Amerika.
